This past week marked the 86th running of the annual Sheridan WYO Rodeo, a major rodeo stop for cowboys and gals from around the globe and winner of the Large Rodeo of the Year for the Mountain States from 2012 through 2015.
From July 11 through July 17th, these top local, national, and international athletes competed in highly exciting rodeo events, performances, and pageants while a packed stadium cheered their support and enthusiasm. We at Century 21 BHJ Realty were excited to, once again, be involved in such an active and exciting community!
Exciting Rodeo Events Set the Stage for a Great Day…
Rodeo Pageants
The WYO Rodeo kicked off on the 11th with a little pageantry—the Rodeo Royalty Pageant, to be exact, which offered four different categories for ladies ages 10 through 24. Last years royalty could be seen in the arena. Curious to know who was voted Rodeo Royalty? Crowned Miss WYO Rodeo was Bailey McLean; followed by Senior Princess, Gabrielle Koltiska, Princess, Angel Richards, and Junior Princess, Mariah McFaul.
A Little Rodeo and Family Fun
Day Two kicked off with the PRCA Steer Roping Slack competition, followed by the Boot Kick-Off, the official kickoff party for WYO Rodeo and an afternoon filled with kids’ competitions, food, music, and fun. And plenty of adults remembered to make it to the after party, which featured live music by Tris Munsick & The Innocents.
Even More Action Ensues
The third and fourth days offered even more to be enjoyed, including the morning Rodeo Slack event, followed by the Native American Pow Wow, the Carnival, Miss Indian American Story Telling, and the PRCA Rodeo Performance.
The Fun and Excitement Continued All Week and Weekend!
Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, Sneakers and Spurs Rodeo Run, bed races, more rodeo, a Parade and more rodeo, coronation of the Royalty, and the Team Roping Tailgate Party and Polo Game… the action was just about non-stop all week long! For those who weren’t able to be a part of it… mark your calendars for next year. And for those who’ve never been before—you’ll be back!
